Memories of The Queen’s Head
Many people have supported our community bid due to personal connections with the village, the pub or the area. Many of these reasons are both encouraging and motivating to read, and worth recording for the future. They all reflect the reasons why we want to secure the pub and ensure it has a future.
Living in Walden all my life, it would be heartbreaking to see the Queens Head disappear completely, from the Littlebury scene.
Back in the day it was my local as I hung out with the Littlebury guys a lot. Living in Great Dunmow we met these extraordinary guys and became the best friends. One of our group married Pete and we often reminisce these times. So it would be my pleasure to help you. Fingers x you get the pub. Let me know if I can help in any way.
A previous landlord kept many animals - a goat once escaped from the pub! The pub had a lovely dog called Larry. Our connection with the pub was living across the road in 'The Little House', we all have vivid memories of discovering that pub roof had caught fire.
We lived in Littlebury with our young family for many years. It’s sad to see the pub closed and we are delighted to help in a small way with our pledge.
We used to travel for the open mic night with our Ukuleles. Monday was open-mic night and we called ourselves the 'Boozie Ukies'. We had a lovely time.
I grew up around Audley End (Estate Lodge, Park Lodge, North End Lodge and Catmere End). The Queen’s Head was my Dad’s local
My father (Steve) was Chef at the pub for a long time, he grew up in Littlebury Green. We nearly bought Squirrel's opposite!
We have had gigs in the pub garden many times - we'd love to do another when you get the pub.
We met again recently in the workplace, and recognised each other straight away. We had both worked as waitresses in the QH as our first job!
The pub will always be special to us, as was more common at the time, we had our wedding reception there.
We lived in Littlebury, for many years and used the local when the village also had a shop and post office. We have fond memories of those past years and would wish to pledge to the fund to save the local Regards,
